November Peek

Natalie Jane is getting so big! She is three months and a week now, working on sitting up and still getting closer to consistently sleeping through the night. Her pile of doesn't-fit-anymores grows every day, it seems like. She's kept Grammy busy knitting lots of fun things!

"Um, guys? The straps are a little big..."
Things this we did this week:

1. celebrated my twin brother Jack's and my birthday with my whole family at the classic Tico's Mexican Restaurant. so great.

We love Uncle Jack

2. accompanied for singers at a vocal competition. Natalie was very cooperative and enjoyed being passed around for the two-day event.
side note: I am so grateful for my husband. He is so helpful and loving and supportive always, but I especially appreciate it when I have events like this. Love.

Timothy hummed to her all day
3. a lot of hanging out.

"please?"

It's NBA seasonnnnn!

Natalie helped (see the sticker?)
5. went to see Wreck-it-Ralph. Austin's new favorite movie. I thought it was good, but I'm more excited to see Hotel Transylvania this weekend! (Natalie was awesome in her first theater experience - she fell asleep after the first trailer and stayed asleep until the credits!)

6.  baked a triforce cake (yes, from zelda)

walking to the store

my ingenious triangle plan

sorta worked?
NJ is already a great helper!

7. read this after Austin has been raving about it since he read the series last year. don't judge - it's actually a very exciting, not dumpy, delicious read. I kind of can't believe I liked it but it was so good that I had to mention it. Try something new and delve on in! I'm on the second book in the trilogy.

8. went to the zoo! Jocelyn brought her 1-year-old Henry and Anna brought 4-month-old Hailey. So fun!

The Sweet eventually got tired

She LOVED the aquarium, flailing her limbs ecstatically and making all sorts of adorable noises. It will be even more fun when she actually gets what is going on and can run from exhibit to exhibit.
moms!

BIGGEST BLOWOUT OF THE CENTURY
This was a three-person job. Excerpts from the conversation: "Oh, okay, don't freak but it's dripping on your pants." "Um, I think it's still coming?" "HOLD ON FOLKS THIS IS NOT A DRILL!" "I need a wipe I need a wipe I NEED MORE WIPES." "How do we make sure it doesn't get in her hair? Or mine, for that matter?" "Okay all right, it went up and over the diaper, people, this is serious."

All better!
I'm a National Geographic photographer, okay?
I felt like such a...mom. It made me smile : ) Sometimes I get so caught up in life that I am shocked to sit down and remember that I have a DAUGHTER and am an actual MOM (not that I ever forget, it's just the norm now so I guess it's more like I don't realize that other people aren't in the same situation) and this is what I've always wanted. Life is sweet, and we have so much to be grateful for.

Happy November!
