A Peek at the Poulsens

  Life at the Poulsens has been busy, full, and fun this month. Natalie is a wonderful baby with a very calm temperament, so we've been able to get out and do lots of things. We love spending time with our families in Lincoln and Papillion, and are always looking for an excuse to come over.  She loves her grandparents!  Aunt Makall Aunt Annie Uncle Sam My brother Max just turned twenty, and in December he will be going to the Alpine Mission for two years, serving as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Southern Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. We are so proud of him and excited to hear about all his experiences. Natalie will miss her Uncle Max though! We have gotten some good friend time in this month as well. We try to have a Beekly Weekly, which is a gathering of us roommates from sophomore year. They are awesome and help babysit when I have class or want to work out or just ...

I don't even know where to start because we are so behind...I've made a goal to update every Sunday though, so hopefully we can get back into the blog habit. Natalie Jane is the BEST. She is alert and aware of what is going on around her, watching with these beautiful big eyes. It is the sweetest when she smiles at us and we are starting to hear some giggles too, which are just so cute. She wakes up once in the night and has been eating less and less each time, which we are hoping is a good sign of sleeping through the night soon. As groggy as I am at 4 or 5 in the morning, it is a special time that I get to spend with our cozy daughter. I'm sure every parent has felt the tug-of-war between letting the baby sleep and going to bed yourself, but wanting to pick her up and snuggle because she looks so cuddly and perfect. Other things I'm sure are part of every parent's experience: - finally getting the baby to sleep and in her crib, then crawling ...

SO, in case you haven't noticed, we absolutely adore our sweet baby girl. We won't deny that having a baby is hard, but neither of us would ever, ever go back. Natalie is so fun to have in our family - we can't imagine life without her. She's serious a lot of the time but has her silly moments, and she's starting to give us real smiles! It's hard to find time as a couple and time individually, not to mention get our homework, housework, work work, and work outs done. (Even now I've gone to put her bink back in three times since starting this blog!) Can you believe it? We have had this precious, happy girl for a full month already! Natalie Jane is THE BEST. Ever.  We just love her to pieces and are so grateful she is in our family. She has such a confident personality - when she is awake and alert she looks around with these big beautiful eyes with pretty eyelashes and you can tell she is taking everything in and developing her own opinions. Sometimes we just sit and stare at eachother, and I wonder what she is thinking. One week old...she's changed so much! She settled into her routine pretty early on which was great for me...now she eats every three hours during the day. I feed her around 9pm and she goes down after 10, and then she doesn't wake up to eat again until around 3 in the morning. It's FABULOUS. Then she eats again around 7. When she wakes up in the morning I open the blinds and let her look outside and soak in the morning light - a big part of her sleeping so well at night already is that she r...
