Health

We are all healthy now and I am SO grateful! Nothing like being sick to make health feel like more of a blessing. Austin was sick for a week straight pretty much which was tiring for all of us (i.e. why Blog Wednesday failed last week) and hopefully we can now shimmy out of sick season safely. (oi! alliteration!) after taking care of a sick husband and needy children for a couple days in a row I finally took a night to myself (with Stockton in tow) and read a book at Noodles to relax. BLISS. I must have looked haggard because the lady gave me a free bowl of soup, too.  Also in the "health" grain we've been trying to eat healthier and it's been cool - we got a juicer and I have to say: fresh, cold OJ that you personally squeeze (or I guess let a machine squeeze for you) is extremely satisfying. Natalie L O V E S it, can't get enough. Sometimes we mix a grapefruit in too. YUM. We also made lasagna with pepperoni instead of beef and slices of zucchini and y...

WEEK WHATEVER/Stockton 4 mos

K, forget about the whole numbered week titles...I'm giving up on that deal. But not on BLOG WEDNESDAY, never fear! It just happened that we skipped a BW or two and now we are here on Makeup Blog Thursday. Ready, go!  ummmmm, the cutest ever, amiright? Stomp is 4 months old now and weighs a healthy 18 pounds 13 ounces. His carseat is becoming unwieldy - I'm strong, but it's heavy with him inside! The little man is a champ - he loves handing out smiles and carries on gurgling conversations with anyone who will listen. He has started trying to grab things, which I love to watch, and he's still working on rolling over. He is usually happy and sleeps well, yayyyyyy. I repeat: YAYYYYY. He puts up with baths but doesn't really prefer them, he finally got some boy-colored binks (YES THERE IS SUCH A THING AS BOY COLORS, DON'T YELL AT ME!), and he is growing ever more enamored with his sister. It warms my heart full to BURSTING when my children interact - I ...

Playing with Natsby

Natalie has been in a little better mood lately and I am definitely relieved - it's nice to not worry about a freak-out every two seconds. She is so fun; she loves to play! Jumping in her crib, stacking cups, pushing the popper, showing Stockton toys, swinging, reading books, dumping out the diapers, playing with the syrup...she does it all and it's hard to get mad when she messes things up or gets into things that are off-limits because she does it with so much joy! her "piano" The humidifier is not a new installment in our home but Natalie only just noticed that there is air coming out of it - she stood in front of it like some sort of beach model in the wind, ha! I know parents are all partial to their own children, but isn't she just a beautiful little girl? Dark, sparkly brown eyes, curly wisps of hair, perfect princess lips. I could wax eloquent on her every little feature, but I'll spare you this time : ) "reading" to Stomp ...

Wk 3

I felt bad for my neighbors this week - Natalie has started throwing tantrums, my negative energy was so tangible that I think they could feel it through the walls, and Stockton keeps doing these random evening freak-outs. It's been a week, folks! All is well now, but here's how we got there... mid-tantrum  Stockton and Austin got whatever stomach bug Natalie had, so for three days in a row I was dealing with a sick household. It was sad and stressful and dirty and not pleasant, especially since I didn't really get a break. I think this sort of started my lingering bad attitude, which was easily stoked by Natalie's frequent and completely unnecessary temper tantrums. She has been teething this week and last too, but I still don't think it's excuse enough for these ridiculous outbursts. She just wails  and shrieks and scares Stockton to death and wears my patience down thinner than I ever thought it could go and still be functional. It's over dumb stuf...
