Christmas part 1

In typical both-families-living-close fashion, we plan on multiple celebrations for each holiday, and Christmas is no different. We had our first Christmas a week early with my family since they are leaving for Utah/California. The kids had a grand time, of course! surveying the presents "American Doll", Katherine!  PJ Masks, Catboy! Despicable Me 3, Minion!  The kids all loved their presents and they were played with the rest of the day. They especially loved putting the minion on the stairs, pressing the button to make it walk, and laughing hysterically as it fell down the stairs.  Gingerbread "houses" with Mimi. Basically we gave up on putting them together in any form of "shelter," and instead opted for the easier and still delicious "lay-flat-on-the-ground" method. Jack participated by offering Natalie different candies for her squares, eating 4 for every 1 she used. Katherine participated too We got hom...

FMG 2017

It's that time of year, folks! Friendsmasgiving! The beloved pre-Christmas post-Thanksgiving Poulsen holiday, celebrated with a dinner party with friends. Delightful! We sent out poetic invitations, and requested responses in poem form. Our guests did not disappoint! "The holiday question that we face each year Is should we visit family or are they coming here. Go with the spouse's family or hangout with mine? The truth is, though, either is just fine. But where do friends fit into all of the fest? Can we squeeze them in with all of the rest? Friendsmasgiving is the solution each year So YES we will come and partake of the cheer!" - Birdsalls  Twas a cold day when we went to check the mail The wind was so strong we went as slow as a snail  When what to our watering eyes should appear  An invitation, so joyful, that we shed a tear ...

Now we just need to bag them. Thanks, wind!  Reading Harry Potter at Natalie's swimming lesson. I laughed out loud at this part:

Fire

Austin is the greatest dad. I love watching him do fun things with the kids. One day he decided to build a fire in the grill and had the kids help him.  Stockton was levitating with excitement, Natalie was uncertain "fire! that's hot." his little hand on Austin's arm! My neighbor gave us some books they were getting rid of, so I wrapped them and put them under the tree weeks before Christmas. They didn't last a day haha, Jack just started ripping them open and Natalie couldn't believe her luck. park with Big Jack! Mimi teaching Natalie the ways of greatness
