Random December

 December was a good month. A lot of warm days, obviously some cold days, and even some snowy days. Christmas preparations, Mario, crafts, decorations, cooking, Mario, friend time, new couch, Mario....here's a taste of what life looked like for us in December: I searched for a long time online to find some art of Mary and baby Jesus to put up around Christmas, and I finally found the one I wanted. I love how simple and tender it is - perfect illustration of the love between a mother and child but also the humbling nature of knowing which mother and child this is.  My dad with Sam and Krispy's pet lizard, Oogi My mom was an all-American volleyball player at BYU and they featured her on their twitter account! So proud! Backyard Campfire

 In December, we decided to have a fire in the backyard after Claire went to sleep. It was a particularly cold day so it didn't last very long, but we did make smores and warm our hands and enjoy the fire smell!

Christmas Break! (+ Jack, Sara, and Makae)

 I love Christmas. I love the anticipation, I love finding the perfect gifts, I love the family time, I love the good cheer, I love the focus on the Savior. It's just a happy season. For the first year since we got married, we didn't spend Christmas or Christmas Eve with either of our parents since none of us are in Nebraska anymore! We did have visitors though, and it made it feel very festive. I went to Salt Lake to have a hang out day with my mom (it was lovely) the weekend before Christmas, and Aaron stopped on his way through Cheyenne as he moved from Nebraska to Utah.  Look at this beautiful cheese spread we made! It was delicious, especially the cranberry Wensleydale.  A beautiful big sky on my way home from Utah - I get frustrated sometimes when I try to take a picture of a sunrise or sunset because the camera never seems to capture it, but I think that's also kind of the beauty of it: you have to see it for yourself and remember it when it's gone.  When Mari...
