Halloween! and Mimi Visits!

never forget...Halloween 2012

this made me laugh haha
Halloween!! I loved trick or treating when I was younger and it is so fun to relive that with my kids. I'm glad we live in a mostly supportive neighborhood where there are plenty of houses with lights on to visit on Halloween. (I do feel like it's kind of a dying tradition though.)

Stockton was the wobbly man, of course, Jack was a red m&m, and Natalie was a snow queen. They were all thrilled about their costumes.

this year it worked out to go trick or treating with our wonderful neighbors! I wish we could transplant the Eickmeiers
to our next street in Cheyenne. Mason, Taylor, Carson, and Parker are great friends to our kids.

Claire lasted approximately 4 minutes haha. Austin took her home and handed out candy.

The annual Trunk or Treat at church! Stockton's costume was a total phenomenon. He was a star haha. It was frustrating and hilarious trying to get these group pictures because Stockton kept wobbling!

Ella, their favorite little friend!

I'm pretty proud of that M, to be honest.

Jack kept seeds from his orange at school lunch and was so excited to plant them in the
backyard. He still checks on the spot to see if there is an orange tree, months later. He's
definitely our little gardener!

Stockton was mad that he had homework. Then he was mad that it was ripped
and he couldn't finish it. I had to write out "new" homework so he had something to turn in.
My mom came for a visit!! It was so so fun. She slept in the basement, so she was with us from breakfast til bedtime and we got to share our daily life with her. The kids can't get enough of her haha. They swarm and she soaks it all in.

the sunrise on my birthday! it was so rosy and pinky and glowing. I felt very special!

I hadn't seen the boys in a while so I went to check on them...they were just in their room, hanging
out with the new lunch trays we had gotten at Target for them. Cute brothers!

The new gray bean bag chair that we got (another purchase from our epic Jill/Jessie Target browse). The bean bag chair is already in the trash haha, it was leaking little pellets everywhere that Claire tried to eat. The kids LOVE playing "piggies" with Mimi.

Stockton likes playing (aggressively) with the sink plug, and one day
it broke completely off -_- our landlord fixed it, but it was annoying

we celebrated my birthday with our favorite white chocolate raspberry bundt cake! SO GOOD
(it was my golden birthday! 29 on the 29th). It felt luxurious to buy a cake instead of making one!

We read books, snuggled, ate out (too much), played at McDonald's, went to Target at least once a day, and just relaxed! It was completely delightful.

Back to Halloween...it wasn't too cold that night, but still chilly enough that we were wearing coats. Stockton's costume was a little unwieldy, as you can imagine, so he lagged behind. It was funny to see him wobbling down the lawn after the others. They all had so much fun!

this is the famous soda house that always hands
out cans of soda for Halloween!

we cut through the bank parking lot and stopped for a quick picture

It was fun for Claire to get some Mimi time, seeing as she knows Mimi the least! I can't believe it but my mom and I only took this one picture together.

We went out to one of Jack's favorite restaurants, Dario's, in Omaha for our birthday. Every single thing we put in our mouths was completely delicious. I got a cup of soup for the appetizer and a bowl of a different soup for dinner, haha. Soup just sounded good!

our birthday orange crepe dessert!
My mom is planning another trip this spring, so we will get to party again! We are so similar in so many ways, and yet so different in other ways. It is a joy to be able to laugh and complain and shop and eat together : )
