Jack still loves building and is reveling in his space in the backyard for his building projects. We needed some more wood and nails, so we went to our local lumber store when Austin was home on his lunch break. The employees here were so excited that this little boy wanted to build and create and use tools and materials, and they totally hooked him up! He got a free hat, apron, wood slats, and measuring tape. They showed us which nails they recommended and got him all outfitted. Jack was in heaven!
They even showed him how to put the drafting pencils in his hat when he wasn't using them so he always knew where to find them. I was so grateful for this specialized attention and fostering of Jack's building and designing hobbies!
There is construction on the street perpendicular to us, and Stockton has become very interested in the construction signs. He particularly loves "detour" and "yield." He likes making his own signs at home and hanging them up everywhere, or taping them to the floor. It's very cute!

Working hard with his new materials.

He likes drawing pictures of shoeprints that they have at stores right now to remind us to social distance.
It's fun to see the boys so excited in their interests! I love watching our kids blossom with creativity and ideas. I am glad that we can usually facilitate and support the things that they are into.
